Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design delivery for capital projects in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment in Houston. You will drive design governance, coordinate with design firms, and ensure alignment with regulatory guidance.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Engineering, has 5+ years of pharma manufacturing experience, and is authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing and/or engineering experience supporting pharmaceutical or API networks.
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification of design standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements/guidance.
• Own overall design delivery for capital project(s).
• Coordinate design activities through project design phases; deliver conceptual and basic design reviews.
• Develop design requirements and assist with design schedule maintenance.
• Assist selection of A/E firms; coordinate earned value progress systems by discipline.
• Expedite design decisions; manage information flow between design team and system owners.
• Ensure design meets approved intent via interactions with design firm, design specialists, Engineering Tech Center disciplines, and end users.
• Lead design governance and resolve design-related problems; improve inefficiencies to meet/improve design hours plan.
• Assist development/maintenance of SOPs, work instructions, and best practices for design/verification.
• Review/approve key internal/external design personnel with the Project Manager.
• Support constructability/technical issue resolution; ensure replication where applicable.
• Support value engineering efforts; review design-related invoices; participate in KPI reviews/assessments.
• Participate in selection of verification professional services.
• Develop Project Verification Plan, Traceability Matrix, and risk assessments (execution not required).
