Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Dentist II for the Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center. The role involves providing dental services to individuals with developmental disabilities, overseeing dental staff, and implementing treatment plans to improve oral health.

Licensure in Texas, DEA registration, and NPI are required. Flexibility for overtime and weekend shifts may be needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in general practice is preferred.
  • Must be licensed by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
  • Must have current DEA registration.
  • Must possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Background checks, pre-employment drug screen and registry checks required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dental services to individuals at the State Supported Living Center and in community settings.
  • Oversee other dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants.
  • Develop desensitization plans and evaluate medications for sedation considerations.
  • Document services and communicate with individuals, families and guardians.
  • May require overtime, weekend/holiday work; participate in disaster recovery readiness.
