TEEMA seeks a Dentist (DDS or DMD) to deliver comprehensive dental care in a 4-day work week, Tue–Fri, with 10-hour shifts at a Texas facility serving individuals with IDD. This role emphasizes patient safety, precise documentation, and collaborative care within a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires an unrestricted Texas license, NPI, and BLS, along with experience in EHR and digital dentistry technologies. Excellent communication and professional standards are expected.

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
  • Current, unrestricted Texas license to practice dentistry.
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Experience using electronic health records and digital dentistry technology.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive dental examinations, diagnosis, preventive care, restorative treatment, and other dental services.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize patient safety and best clinical practices.
  • Prepare written treatment plans with appropriate justification for irreversible dental procedures.
  • Deliver compassionate care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities residing within the Supported Living Center and approved community settings.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the facility's electronic medical and dental record systems.
  • Utilize digital dentistry technologies and electronic health records efficiently.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, dental assistants, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on proper oral hygiene and preventive dental care.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control standards and all applicable clinical guidelines.
  • Follow all facility Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to CMS standards, HHSC regulations, and facility policies and directives.
  • Perform duties with professionalism while working independently with minimal supervision.

Job description

Schedule

4-day work week

Tuesday through Friday

10-hour shifts

No after-hours or on-call responsibilities

Schedule begins following completion of required facility orientation and training

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive dental examinations, diagnosis, preventive care, restorative treatment, and other dental services.

Qualifications

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.

Current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Texas.

Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience using electronic health records and digital dentistry technology.

Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Ability to provide safe, compassionate care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Certifications & Licensure

Candidates must maintain the following throughout the duration of the assignment:

Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)

Current American Heart Association BLS (CPR) certification
