Job summary

Forty Acres Fresh Market in Chicago seeks a Deli/Prepared Foods Manager (Mabel's Meals) to lead daily operations, uphold quality, and drive store profitability with a people-first approach.

You will supervise production of hot and cold meals, manage staff, ensure safety, and collaborate on menu and promotions while maintaining exceptional customer service and a welcoming department environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent; Chicago Food Service Sanitation Certificate required or within 30 days.
• Minimum 4 years in food service; 2 years in a management role.
• Excellent customer service and ability to manage inventory and costs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Productivity Suite; Excel/Sheets.
• Experience with POS systems and basic math for margin calculations.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages the Deli & Prepared Foods department, achieving budgeted goals.
• Oversees hiring, training, scheduling, and performance appraisal.
• Ensures food safety, quality, and proper presentation of Mabel's Meals.
• Collaborates with store managers on promotions, pricing, and inventory.
• Manages receiving, costs, and vendor relations.
