Integrated Deicing Services is seeking a Lead Deicer in Anchorage, AK to coach and guide operations during de/anti-icing, inspect aircraft for ice and remaining contamination, and report deviations from standards.

The role emphasizes safety, English communication, and the ability to manage equipment checks, logs, and shutdown procedures in a dynamic airfield environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.
• Must be able to verbally direct in English.
• Successful completion of IDS classroom and OJT de-/anti-icing training & obtain a SIDA airport badge.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe environment during the de/anti-icing operation and follow all policies.
• Inspect aircraft for ice and remaining frozen contamination after deicing.
• Participate in pre-planning for de/anti-ice events and perform equipment checks.
• Ensure proper shutdown of pads, maintain logs, and report maintenance issues.

Leads are responsible for monitoring and reporting any extraordinary performance or deviations from operational standards. The primary role of the aircraft deicer is to remove ice from the aircraft. The individual in this position inspects the aircraft for ice and for remaining frozen contamination after the deicing has been performed. He or she sprays the airplane down with the deicing fluid, which is usually made of glycol.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):• Ensure a safe environment during the de/anti-icing operation and make sure all company policies and procedures are being followed correctly• Uphold and follow the duties related to de/anti-icing aircraft according to procedures for both airlines and IDS (including inspecting aircraft for frozen contamination)• Participate in the pre-planning for the de/anti-ice event (perform checks on equipment, trucks, servicing equipment with fuel or glycol)• Ensure proper shutdown of pads, including paperwork and log books; that all maintenance issues have been logged and reported to maintenance and all proper shutdown procedures for the equipment are followedRequired Skills and Experience:• High school diploma or equivalent preferred• Must be at least 18 years old• Intermediate computer skills• Maintain and treat all information as confidential• Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English• Must be able to verbally direct in English• Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives• Successful completion of all IDS classroom and OJT de-/anti-icing training & obtain a SIDA airport badge• A valid driver’s license is required for this positionWork Environment:• Prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to prevalent weather, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes and noise, in or around heavy equipment and moving vehicles.Physical Demands:• Must be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, crawl, climb ladders and/or work at heights in excess of 15 ft to perform role, repairs and/or inspections• Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms• Able to speak and hear efficiently** The Inland Group of Companies maintains a drug-free workplace and, as such, all candidates and employees can expect to participate in our drug testing programThe Inland Group of Companies offers a variety of opportunities to work in the field of aviation.
