Job summary
Ampcus Inc. is seeking an experienced Db2 for z/OS Systems Programmer to lead and execute complex database infrastructure initiatives across mainframe and distributed environments. You will install, configure, and optimize Db2 subsystems, manage DR/BCP activities, and coordinate with IBM and vendor tools.
You will mentor DBAs, participate in DR exercises, and drive automation using REXX and JCL. A strong background in SMP/E and z/OS is essential, with willingness for on-call and weekend
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related STEM field or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years hands-on Db2 for z/OS systems programming including installation, maintenance and migrations.
- Strong working knowledge of SMP/E, z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF/IOF and REXX.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex analysis and implementation of database infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments as an individual contributor.
- Define and implement IaC-based requirements for database infrastructure solutions.
- Design and optimize deployment processes and automation for hybrid clouds.
- Mentor DBAs and managed service resources; build and maintain runbooks and documentation.
