Job summary

Falcon Smart IT (FalconSmartIT) in Culver City, CA is seeking a Lead DataStage Integration Support Engineer for a contract role. You will lead ETL development, administration, production support, and maintenance of DataStage environments to ensure reliable data flows.

The ideal candidate brings strong DataStage expertise, Python and SQL scripting skills, and experience with related tools such as Control-M and MFT. Onsite work is required four days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience with ETL processes using DataStage.
• Strong Python and SQL scripting skills.
• Familiarity with Control-M, MFT and IBM Gentran is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand requirements and implement ETL processes using DataStage.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data manipulation and retrieval.
• Manage and configure DataStage environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to ETL processes.
• Implement security best practices for data handling and integration.
• Provide support for production processes, troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
• Monitor job logs and performance metrics to proactively identify and address potential issues. Implement incident management processes to ensure timely resolution of production incidents.
• Plan and execute regular maintenance activities, including system upgrades and patches.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards during maintenance activities.
• Document processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing.
• Utilize Python for scripting tasks related to data processing and automation. Develop and maintain SQL scripts for data validation and transformation.
• Work closely with business & technical teams & manage application support & track KPI/SLA.
