Job summary

i-Link Solutions invites a Lead ETL DataStage Consultant to join our data integration team in Milpitas, CA. The role focuses on development, administration, and production support of ETL processes using DataStage, with strong Python and SQL scripting skills.

The candidate will manage DataStage environments, optimize queries, and collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into technical specs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of proven ETL development and administration using DataStage.
• Unix shell scripts, Cron jobs, and Relational databases; strong Python & SQL for automation.
• Lead and drive utilities/frameworks to automate functionality and environment checks.
• Familiarity with Control-M, MFT, and IBM Gentran is a plus.
• Very strong ITSM process knowledge and SLA expectations.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery models with tools like JIRA, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; clear communication in onshore-offshore contexts.

Responsibilities

• Understand requirements and implement ETL processes using DataStage to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
• Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data manipulation and retrieval.
• Manage and configure DataStage environments for optimal performance.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot ETL-related issues.
• Implement security best practices for data handling and integration.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot incidents, and document resolutions and processes.
• Plan maintenance activities, system upgrades, and patches while ensuring compliance.
