Job summary

CCC Intelligent Solutions is seeking a Lead Database Platform Engineer to drive strategy, architecture, reliability, and modernization of our enterprise database ecosystem. You will lead a team of database engineers responsible for design, implementation, and support across on‑premises and cloud environments.

Based in the Chicago area with a hybrid work model, you will partner with Engineering, SRE, DevOps, Architecture, and Product teams to ensure secure, highly available, scalable data

Qualifications

• Leadership and communication skills with ability to influence across teams.
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise-scale database environments.
• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
• Experience with database upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with audit, compliance, and security controls including SOC.

Responsibilities

• Lead the database platform strategy, roadmap, and architectural direction.
• Design and optimize enterprise-scale database solutions across SQL Server and cloud-native tech.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to a team of database engineers.
• Collaborate with Engineering, SRE, DevOps, and Product Development to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Drive automation for deployment, monitoring, tuning, provisioning, and incident response.
• Champion AI-driven automation to improve productivity and reduce manual tasks.
• Lead platform initiatives including upgrades, migrations, and cloud transformations.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, architecture standards, and DR plans.
