Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking engineers for the Amazon MSK team to design and build features across the stack, including the Kafka platform, APIs, and related tooling. You will help deliver a scalable, high‑availability managed service for streaming data at AWS scale.

The role emphasizes contributing to open source, collaborating with senior leaders on roadmap, and mentoring others while solving complex data streaming challenges with modern technologies.

Qualifications

5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Collaborate to build a large scale AWS service.
Design and implement features for MSK including APIs and Kafka platform components.
Contribute to open source and share improvements with the community.
