Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Lead Supply Chain Data Scientist to drive advanced analytics across MRP, inventory optimization, and production scheduling. The role blends supply chain expertise with ML, AI, and data governance to deliver actionable business insights and strategic leadership.

Ideal candidates have substantial experience with SAP MRP, Python/R, SQL, and Power BI, and can lead cross-functional teams to improve service levels and efficiency in a mission-driven space environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work exp); Masters with 6+ years qualifies.
• 8+ years experience in material planning, production planning, or supply chain analytics.
• Experience with SAP MRP and advanced data visualization tools (Power BI or similar).
• Strong Excel skills (modeling, VBA) and SQL to extract/manage data.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop analytics strategies aligned with supply chain goals and translate data into actionable insights.
• Apply statistical and ML methods to analyze complex supply chain datasets.
• Scale Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities for supply chain apps.
• Lead AI governance and enterprise AI adoption within the organization.
• Monitor inventory, on-time delivery, supplier quality, and PO projections.
• Support SIOP with data analysis and cross-functional communication.
• Configure and optimize MRP parameters within SAP to maximize service levels.
• Own data quality, governance, and IT system alignment across supply chain analytics.
