Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Lead Supply Chain Data Scientist to drive analytics, AI leadership, and MRP optimization within our Colorado operations. You will guide strategic analytics and collaborate across procurement, manufacturing, and IT to optimize inventory, scheduling, and service levels.

The role requires deep data science expertise, strong SQL/Python/R skills, and hands-on experience with SAP MRP and BI tools. Join us in advancing space capabilities with data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Typically 8+ years in material/production planning or analytics
• Data science, statistical modeling, and ML applications
• Experience with SAP MRP and advanced data visualization tools
• Advanced Excel skills and SQL knowledge
• Programming in Python, R, and SQL
• Understanding of IT systems, CI/CD, and business processes
• Knowledge of database environments and upgrades

Responsibilities

• Develop analytics strategies aligned with supply chain objectives
• Apply statistical and ML techniques to supply chain data
• Develop and scale Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities for SCM
• Manage MRP parameters within SAP to maximize service levels
• Own accuracy and performance of the MRP system
• Analyze datasets to identify bottlenecks in replenishment and scheduling
• Ensure data accuracy and governance across systems
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with procurement, manufacturing and IT
• Mentor analysts and data scientists
• Drive automation and process improvements
