Job summary

Dover is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to build advanced AI systems and demonstrate their accuracy, reliability, and production readiness. You will measure model performance and uncertainty, explain behavior, and connect technical results to business outcomes for executive decision-making.

The role covers Generative AI, computer vision, forecasting and optimization. You will design and deliver production AI solutions and lead end-to-end model deployment and monitoring with strong scientific

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/DS/ML/Statistics or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ AI/ML projects deployed to production with clear ownership of approach, evaluation and risk.
• Strong statistical foundations with hypothesis testing and experiment design.
• Hands-on experience with RAG, tool-use patterns and agentic frameworks.
• Experience evaluating and protecting LLM and agentic systems through guardrails and testing.
• Familiarity with MLOps: experiment tracking, CI/CD, model registries and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Justify modeling decisions with evidence and frame business problems.
• Quantify risk and uncertainty; define production-readiness criteria for each use case.
• Improve explainability with SHAP, LIME and evaluation dashboards.
• Translate results into business impact; communicate risks and trade-offs to leaders.
