Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead development and deployment of predictive modeling solutions that improve member experiences. You will oversee end-to-end ML projects, from data prep to scoring, leveraging Python, Spark, SQL, and distributed computing.

The role emphasizes collaboration with business partners, mentorship of engineers, and staying current with data science innovations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field and 7+ years of predictive analytics experience.
End-to-end predictive modeling and large-scale data preparation using Python, Spark, PostgreSQL, and advanced SQL.
Experience with Linux environment tools (Anaconda/conda, pip/venv) and Airflow for ML pipelines.
Distributed ETL and processing with Hadoop/Hive and AWS data access for analytics.
Supervised ML development with scikit-learn and XGBoost; GLMs, hypothesis testing, and related methods.
Deep learning model development with PyTorch; parallelization and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

Serve as methodology-expert and guide algorithm selection for data challenges.
Coach junior team members on data science techniques.
Lead design and execution of predictive modeling projects for business problems.
Guide work with structured and unstructured datasets across large-scale pipelines.
Lead real-time and batch model scoring to drive actions.
