Advocate Health is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to apply advanced statistical and computational methods to deliver insights that improve healthcare quality, patient experience, and cost guidance. You will build scalable analytics processes, monitor complex systems, and translate business questions into actionable insights.

The role requires a PhD in a relevant field and at least 10 years of experience with SAS/R, data mining, and healthcare data, with strong communication and leadership

Qualifications

• Requires a PhD in Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Economics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or closely related areas.
• Minimum of 10 years professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 10 years of experience with SAS and/or R, other data mining tools, databases, and computer programming.
• Experience with healthcare claims, pharmaceutical, and EHR data preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use advanced statistical and computational methodologies to deliver insights for healthcare quality, patient experience, and cost.
• Establish scalable, automated processes for large-scale data analyses and model development.
• Proactively monitor and analyze complex systems to improve KPIs.
• Translate business questions into analytical questions and translate results into solutions.
• Write statistical methodology and results for reports and publications.
• Manipulate large databases to produce analysis-ready information.
• Develop algorithms and write code to implement them.
• Create graphics for data visualization and information display.
• Develop metrics and scorecards.
• Partner with senior leaders to define business questions and assess needs.
• Lead multiple projects concurrently and influence senior leaders to take action.
