Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a data scientist to transform raw data into actionable insights and scalable ML solutions. You will select appropriate modeling techniques, build production-grade models, and document methods for risk and compliance audiences.

You will mentor junior data scientists, collaborate with data engineers, and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations while delivering clear business recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline or 4 years of relevant experience.
• 6 years of experience in predictive analytics or data analysis.
• 4 years of experience training and validating statistical, ML, or other analytics models.
• 4 years of experience using Python or R for analyses and AI/ML models.
• Experience writing clear, well-documented, transparent code.
• Strong querying and preprocessing of structured and unstructured data (SQL, NoSQL, etc.).
• Ability to assess regulatory implications of modeling efforts.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Gather, interpret, and manipulate data for advanced analytical solutions.
• Develop scalable automated solutions using ML, simulation, and optimization.
• Select modelling techniques based on data and business needs.
• Develop and deploy models within Model Development Control and Model Risk Management.
• Prepare technical documentation for knowledge persistence and risk reviews.
• Communicate results to non-technical colleagues and stakeholders.
