Job summary

Validation & Engineering Group, Inc. (V&EG) seeks a Data Scientist to lead analytics projects across PR Operations, collaborating with commercial insights, manufacturing, supply chain, and IS partners.

You will develop models, run end-to-end analytics, and deliver business impact through advanced techniques. You will innovate with Python-based models, work with SQL and other query languages, and craft clear presentations for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or OR
• Experience leading analytics projects end-to-end
• Experience with relational, SQL, and Graph databases
• Programming in Python, R, or SAS; ML libraries like scikit-learn, MLlib, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch
• Write well-abstracted, reusable code; comfortable in Linux
• Strong problem-solving, logical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities for large datasets
• Ability to influence business partners and IS resources to drive projects
• Strong communication skills to present analyses clearly
• Experience with large datasets and distributed computing tools (Spark, Hive)
• Biotech/Pharma experience

Responsibilities

• Lead data science, ML, and AI capabilities across the organization
• Direct cross-functional projects delivering actionable insights
• Independently manage projects with minimal supervision
• Identify business needs; design analytical approaches; obtain approvals; execute end-to-end
• Build algorithms, prototypes, and models using Python
• Work with SQL and other DB query languages
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define methodologies for questions
• Present analysis ideas and results to partners clearly
• Create compelling PowerPoint stories; proficient with Excel
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and privacy requirements
