Job summary

Bonfire Analytics is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to lead data science at our healthcare-focused analytics startup. As one of our earliest hires, you will own hard analytical problems end to end, turn raw data into trusted insights, and shape the decisions we make as a company.

You’ll work directly with customers and the founders, and you’ll help hire and mentor the team as it grows. The problems are ambiguous, the data is messy, and the bar for what we ship is high.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data science or advanced analytics.
• Strong SQL skills with complex queries.
• Proficiency in Python for modeling and statistics.
• Experience building or maintaining scalable data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Advanced analytics & modeling in Python and SQL.
• Own the data foundation with Databricks pipelines at scale.
• Work AI-first to build deliverables and shape the analytical engine.
• Lead data science by setting technical direction and standards.
• Own customer outcomes from discovery through delivery and report findings.
