Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer for a cutting-edge automation company powering intelligent warehouse and distribution tech. You’ll design foundational data infrastructure to enable operational intelligence and AI-driven decisions across thousands of robotic assets.

Collaborate with software, controls, robotics, ML teams, and product leaders to build scalable, reliable data services and shape technical strategy while staying hands-on in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale distributed data platforms.
• Proficient in Python, Java or Scala.
• Deep data architecture and systems design knowledge.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, Flink or equal.
• Cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Infrastructure automation and containerized environments.
• Experience with high-volume streaming data.
• Strong SQL and DB performance tuning.
• CI/CD and software engineering practices.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on design and build of scalable data platforms.
• Develop streaming architectures processing millions of events daily.
• Create reusable data services for AI, simulation, BI workloads.
• Define data collection and integration standards with teams.
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of data systems.
• Build tools for real-time visibility into operations.
• Develop metrics frameworks and platform observability.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for data workloads.
• Provide reliable access to operational and historical datasets.
• Drive technical improvements across the data ecosystem.
