Job summary

Forsyth Barnes is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design and deliver an enterprise data platform on Google Cloud Platform. You will build scalable data pipelines, ELT frameworks, and semantic data models to enable analytics and AI-driven insights across the organisation.

The role emphasizes Medallion architecture, Kimball dimensional modelling, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive performance and best practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience as a Senior/Lead Data Engineer.
• Strong expertise with Google BigQuery.
• Excellent SQL skills for large-scale queries.
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience designing Medallion Data Architecture.
• Experience building semantic data models.
• Strong understanding of Kimball methodology and dimensional modelling.
• Experience with large enterprise datasets.
• Strong understanding of modern ETL/ELT frameworks and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines in GCP.
• Develop robust ELT/data transformation frameworks for analytics.
• Build high-performance solutions using BigQuery and SQL.
• Design and implement Medallion Data Architecture and semantic models.
• Develop dimensional models using Kimball methodology.
• Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems for reporting.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Engineers and stakeholders to deliver data products.
• Drive data engineering best practices across architecture, performance and scalability.
• Support enterprise AI and advanced analytics initiatives.
