Hamilton Beach Brands is seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer to lead the Data Analytics, Reporting & AI Implementation team. You will own the Microsoft Fabric architecture build-out while modernizing our SQL Server environment with Azure SQL, Data Factory, Databricks, and Fabric.

You will mentor teammates, own production pipelines, and drive AI-first solutions using Claude and MCP-based tooling. This hybrid role is based at our Glen Allen, VA headquarters.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering, including lead/mentoring experience.
• Consumer products, manufacturing, or supply chain experience preferred.
• Expert T-SQL with views, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Strong Python/PySpark skills and production data pipelines.
• Hands-on with Azure SQL/SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric.

Responsibilities

• Lead data warehouse modernization across the platform.
• Build reliable data pipelines using T-SQL, Python/PySpark, and Azure services.
• Shape and govern Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers in Fabric and OneLake.
• Create a Gold Enterprise Data Warehouse with shared dimensions for trusted reporting.
• Mentor two Data Analysts and promote reusable standards across the team.
• Oversee production reporting for FP&A, forecasting, and international operations.
