Job summary

WorkGenius Group in Plano, TX seeks a Lead Data Platform Engineer to design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure and analytics platform services across AWS, Snowflake, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Datameer and Airflow.

You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and ensure reliability through monitoring, security, and cost optimization. The role also includes technical leadership and mentoring of data teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering and 5+ years in platform engineering.
• Strong admin experience with Snowflake, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Datameer, and Airflow.
• Proficient in CI/CD with GitLab CI or Jenkins and IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Python, PySpark, and cloud architecture principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure and analytics platform services across AWS, Snowflake, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Datameer, and Airflow.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code to automate provisioning, configuration, releases, and reliable deployments.
• Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, logging, incident response, on-call support, and performance, scalability, and cost optimization.
• Implement security, identity management, data protection, compliance controls, access governance, auditability, and operational standards.
• Provide technical leadership, establish platform standards, automate operational processes, and collaborate with and mentor data engineering, analytics, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, plus 5+ years of platform or platform engineering experience.
• Strong experience administering and supporting Snowflake, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Datameer, and Airflow, along with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI or Jenkins and infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Python, PySpark, Bash, monitoring and observability tools, networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills; experience with data platforms, secrets management, security and compliance, cloud cost optimization, or MLOps is preferred.
