Job summary

Empower is seeking a Lead Analyst to champion its enterprise data governance and knowledge management strategy. You will collaborate with business, tech, risk and legal teams to implement governance frameworks, improve data quality, and maintain audit-ready controls across structured and unstructured data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 7–10 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related disciplines.
• Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks (CCPA, GLBA, ERISA, SEC and FINRA).
• Experience with metadata management, data cataloging, and lineage tools (Collibra or similar).
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks, observability tools, and issue management processes.
• Understanding of knowledge management concepts (taxonomy and unstructured data governance).
• Experience implementing governance policies, standards, and controls in operational environments.
• Ability to analyze data, produce governance metrics, and develop scorecards and dashboards.
• Proficiency with SQL and data platforms like Snowflake (governance features).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute and operationalize enterprise data governance and knowledge management frameworks aligned with policies and models (DCAM/DAMA).
• Support data stewardship activities across business domains.
• Maintain metadata, catalog, and lineage capabilities (Collibra, glossaries, data element lifecycle).
• Monitor and report on data quality metrics, SLAs, and observability processes.
• Coordinate data quality issue identification, escalation, and remediation tracking.
• Assist in governance within data product lifecycles (quality, privacy, lineage).
• Support regulatory compliance efforts (CCPA, GLBA, ERISA, SEC/FINRA) with documentation and artifacts.
• Contribute to governance of unstructured data and knowledge assets (taxonomy, ontology).
• Partner with Risk, Legal, and Technology on access controls and responsible AI initiatives.
• Prepare governance reporting, scorecards, and KPI dashboards.
