Job summary

7-Eleven seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Data Engineering team, overseeing ~25–30 engineers across onshore/offshore pods. You will drive ingestion, ELT/ETL, and lakehouse modernization across multiple business domains and ensure observability, quality, and cost efficiency.

You will mentor engineers, shape the technical vision for master data programs, and partner with data platform and governance teams to deliver scalable, production-grade data products for enterprise

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Software/Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering.
• 5+ years building large-scale batch and streaming ELT/ETL pipelines.
• 5+ years managing engineering teams, across hybrid delivery models.
• Strong data modeling knowledge (dimensional, data vault, medallion).
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery across multiple Data Engineering pods (~25–30 engineers).
• Set technical vision for master data and lakehouse modernization.
• Translate models into physical implementations using Delta/Lakehouse stacks.
• Ensure pipelines have observability, data quality, lineage and privacy by design.
• Run data engineering as a product with roadmaps, backlogs and value tracking.
• Mentor engineers and coach offshore teams on modernization and quality.
• Collaborate on CI/CD, SDLC, and cost attribution for data workloads.
• Own incident response and SLA adherence for production pipelines.
