Job summary

Bold Orange (BOCO) is seeking a lead data engineer with deep Snowflake expertise to own accounts end-to-end. You will design data models, warehouses, and ELT/ETL pipelines, while building back-end services in Python and C#/.NET and guiding a team across multiple engagements.

You will work with Snowflake, Redshift, and Databricks, collaborating with architects and clients to establish engineering standards and best practices in a hybrid Twin Cities setting with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, focused on data engineering.
• Deep Snowflake expertise: data models, warehouses, ELT/ETL, performant SQL.
• Own data platform design from requirements through production; lead client-facing solutions.
• Ability to estimate work at system and project levels and communicate trade-offs.
• Proficient in Python and C# for back-end development; REST API design experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical solution for accounts from discovery to production and support.
• Lead architecture, data models, warehouses, and ETL/ELT pipelines in Snowflake.
• Develop and tune SQL, stored procedures, and transformations in Snowflake and relational DBs.
• Design and maintain back-end APIs/services in Python and C#/.NET.
• Own CI/CD and deployment paths across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Set engineering standards, review designs, and grow team depth in Snowflake/backend.
