Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Houston’s Corporate Technology - Data protection and Recovery. You will be a core contributor driving secure, scalable, data-driven product development with AI-assisted practices across multiple teams.

Responsibilities include delivering secure production code, guiding architecture decisions, and advancing automated validation and CI/CD processes in a fast-paced agile environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience leading AI-assisted software development tools and setting team expectations for AI outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI, data sensitivity, secure handling of data, resiliency and security.
• Strong Python programming skills, including unit and integration testing.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL-based transformation tooling.
• Experience designing and operating orchestration pipelines using Airflow or similar tools.
• Experience building streaming pipelines using Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• Experience across the data lifecycle and agile engineering environments.
• Advanced understanding of CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with ability to solve complex problems.
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews code written by others.
• Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Applies SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation value.
• Identifies opportunities to automate recurring issues to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architecture.
• Generates data models and delivers data platform solutions in a secure, scalable manner.
• Evaluates access control processes to ensure data security.
• Creates reports in JIRA/Confluence to improve product-line reporting and sprint metrics.
