Moda Operandi, a luxury e‑commerce platform, seeks a hands‑on Manager of Data Engineering in New York. You will own the design, delivery, and operation of scalable data infrastructure powering personalization, merchandising insights, inventory visibility, and analytics.

This player‑coach role demands leadership, technical excellence, and close partnership with product, engineering, and business teams. As the leader of data engineering, you will shape architecture, governance, and data platforms,

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience, with 1-3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience building and operating large-scale data platforms in e-commerce or digital business.
• Hands-on experience with modern data tools and frameworks.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Looker, Tableau, dbt.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver reliable, high-quality data products supporting analytics, reporting, and ML.

Responsibilities

• Data Engineering & Platform Ownership: design, develop, and operate scalable data pipelines across e-commerce, CRM, ERP, order management, inventory, and marketing systems.
• Architect and evolve the enterprise data platform (data lakes, data warehouses, semantic layers, APIs) for analytics and downstream consumption.
• Ensure data reliability, quality, lineage, observability, and performance across pipelines.
• Drive adoption of modern data engineering tools and CI/CD for data workflows.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with product, marketing, merchandising, and operations to deliver trusted datasets.
