Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Lead Engineer for a fully remote role based in the US. You will lead hands-on development across SaaS and custom applications, APIs, and integrations, while providing technical leadership and design guidance.

The role focuses on production-ready implementation and collaboration with architecture and operations teams. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on engineering experience with SaaS platforms, along with the ability to mentor developers and influence best practices

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on development and technical delivery of application products and services from design through production implementation
• Contribute to solution architecture, participate in design reviews, and create both conceptual and detailed technical design documentation
• Develop and support SaaS platforms, custom applications, APIs, integrations, and automation with a focus on production-quality implementation
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring, developer guidance, code review, and engineering best practices
• Partner with architecture, operational, and build teams to define testing, implementation, upgrade, and patch strategies
• Monitor implementation quality, communicate delivery progress and technical risks, and support Tier 3 application issues and change activities
• Collaborate across engineering, architecture, and operational teams to ensure clear communication of technical risks, decisions, and delivery progress
• Create clear technical design documentation and provide a software-engineering perspective on system requirements
• Support production applications, including advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and implementation support

Remote (US-based)

$65 - $75 per hour

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join Brooksource as a Lead Engineer, where you will combine hands-on application development with technical leadership and solution design influence. In this fully remote role, you will support end-to-end delivery across SaaS and custom applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and production implementation. You will work closely with engineering, architecture, and operational partners to shape solutions, guide developers, maintain implementation quality, and support applications through production. This position reports into a technical engineering team and collaborates cross-functionally with architecture, operational, and build teams. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Strong hands-on application engineering experience with SaaS, custom applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and production implementation
• Proven technical leadership skills, including mentoring developers, influencing code quality, and guiding engineering best practices without requiring formal people-management authority
• Experience contributing to solution architecture, technical design reviews, and implementation-quality oversight
• Ability to support production applications, including advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and implementation support
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering, architecture, and operational teams
• Ability to clearly communicate technical risks, decisions, and delivery progress
• Experience creating technical design documentation and providing software-engineering perspectives on system requirements
