Job summary

A leading data center service provider seeks a Level 2 Data Center Operations professional in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience handling hardware installations, remote support, and environmental monitoring. Responsibilities include ensuring operational excellence in high-availability environments, documenting procedures, and performing maintenance. Certification in ITIL or CompTIA is preferred. Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on data center experience required.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks independently and collaboratively.
  • Preferred certifications include ITIL Foundation and CompTIA Server+ or Network+.
  • Maintain operational integrity of on-prem and colocation environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware installations including racking and stacking.
  • Provide remote hands support and resolve operational incidents.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and document work activities.
  • Execute equipment decommissioning including data sanitization and asset tracking.
  • Maintain records in DCIM and CMDB; document shift logs and procedures.
  • Support power and cooling infrastructure (UPS, PDUs, generators, CRACs, chillers).
  • Assist with server configuration and troubleshooting (Windows Server, Linux).
  • Monitor environmental systems (temperature, humidity, power, leaks).

Job description

Overview

We are looking for a Level 2 Data Center Operations professional to join our team. This role is for individuals with experience in high-availability environments who can manage daily operations with a focus on safety, compliance, and operational excellence. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of our on-prem and colocation data center environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in data center operations, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 3+ years hands-on data center experience
  • Entry-level candidates will not be considered
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hardware installations (racking, stacking, patch cabling)
  • Provide remote hands support and resolve operational incidents
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and housekeeping
  • Execute equipment decommissioning, including data sanitization and asset tracking
  • Maintain accurate records within DCIM and CMDB systems
  • Document work activities, shift logs, and operational procedures
  • Support safe operation of power and cooling infrastructure (UPS, PDUs, generators, CRAC units, chillers)
  • Assist with server configuration and troubleshooting (Windows Server, Linux)
  • Monitor environmental systems (temperature, humidity, power, leak detection)
