Job summary

Google Data Center Engineering seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive the power infrastructure for mission-critical facilities. You will coordinate on-site design and construction, ensuring safety, code compliance, and timely delivery while mentoring teams across multiple locations.

Ideal candidates bring LV/MV expertise, contractor leadership, and the ability to travel extensively to support projects nationwide. This role anchors our on-site power strategy for next-gen data centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, including power distribution and construction support for mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with LV and MV systems, switchgear, transformers, and distribution networks; reviewing NETA reports.
• Experience managing contractors, leading technical resolution meetings, and providing clear guidance on complex installations.
• Experience leading electrical safety programs and managing workplace hazards related to medium-voltage systems.
• Ability to travel more than 50% of the time to provide on-site support across project locations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical liaison during construction; resolve design ambiguities.
• Perform periodic site walk-throughs and review installation quality for conformance.
• Identify and resolve conflicts between design intent and site constraints to protect schedule.
• Apply local codes (NEC/NFPA) to ensure compliant and safe installations.
• Mentor and advise electrical contractors; streamline RFI processes.
