Job summary

Graphcore, a leading AI compute innovator, seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead architecture and delivery of safe, scalable data center power infrastructure for high-density AI computing environments.

Based in Austin, TX, with ~10% travel, you will guide design from early studies through construction, commissioning, operation and lifecycle improvements, mentoring engineers and coordinating with partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Substantial experience delivering mission-critical electrical infrastructure in hyperscale or high-availability environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a significant technical area and influence outcomes across multiple disciplines.
• Deep knowledge of medium- and low-voltage AC systems and high-power DC distribution.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for electrical engineering across data center projects from source to IT rack.
• Lead electrical architecture development through design, construction, commissioning and lifecycle improvements.
• Develop electrical standards, specifications and reference designs for power distribution and conversion.
• Define electrical protection and safety approaches for AC/DC systems and safety maintenance.
• Develop resilient power solutions for dynamic AI loads including energy storage and utility interconnection.
• Direct engineering consultants, review deliverables, and manage site testing and commissioning.
• Collaborate with construction partners to deliver data center spaces and resolve issues.
