Job summary

Stantec is seeking a senior commissioning professional to lead and execute commissioning across data center projects in Chicago, IL and other locations with Stantec offices. You will develop tests, review designs, coordinate with contractors and clients, and deliver detailed reports and SOPs.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in MEP commissioning, expertise in HVAC, pumps, chillers, UPS, and electrical distribution, and readiness to travel extensively to support critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with heavy documentation.
• High competency in technical writing, systems development and utilization.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD.
• Extensive knowledge of MEP systems, installation and operation.
• Strong presentation and communication skills for a wide audience.
• Willingness to travel 75%+ domestically and possibly internationally.
• Proven commissioning planning, testing, and building performance investigation experience.
• PE license in Electrical discipline and LEED AP accreditation are a plus.
• CXA, AABC, ACG certifications desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in all phases of commissioning projects including planning, scheduling, and coordination.
• Lead and perform design reviews, prepare commissioning scripts and reports, direct client-site testing and training.
• Prepare start-up procedures, SOPs and MOPs with comprehensive commissioning documentation.
• Prepare commissioning test procedures and reports; develop and maintain logs and checklists.
• Prepare comprehensive reports with recommendations to optimize building operations.
• Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, and documentation relevant to commissioning.
• Lead commissioning activity meetings and interface with contractors, vendors, and testing technicians.
