Job summary
Vantage Data Centers seeks a hands-on Lead Automation and Controls Technician to support daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial automation systems across its data center portfolio. You will execute automation tasks, assist with diagnostics, and ensure reliable PLC/HMI/SCADA performance.
Based on-site in Santa Clara, CA with a hybrid schedule in San Jose, you will collaborate with Senior Specialists, Developers, and Operations to maintain system integrity and drive
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in Industrial Automation required, 5 to 7 years preferred.
- Knowledge of automation systems (control loops, field IO, etc.) in a mission critical environment.
- Advanced knowledge of PLC programming including Rockwell Automation and Carel software platforms.
- Experience with PLC/SCADA systems from leading vendors; travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities
- Monitor automation systems for power and cooling infrastructure across data center sites.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and field devices.
- Assist with root-cause analysis and escalate complex issues to senior team members.
- Perform routine firmware updates and configuration changes on control systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation for control systems, wiring diagrams, and device configurations.
- Collaborate with Senior Specialists and Developers to implement automation changes.
- Collect operational data and ensure proper system logging across platforms.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and internal/external standards.
