Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Lead Data & Solutions Architect to advance our enterprise data ecosystem, driving scalable cloud data platforms and governance. You will lead architecture across Databricks, AWS, and Azure to enable AI, analytics, and data-driven decision making.

The ideal candidate has deep Databricks and cloud experience, strong business acumen, and leadership capabilities to mentor engineers and cross-functional teams in a regulated healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in data architecture, solution architecture, data engineering, or related enterprise tech roles.
• 5+ years designing and implementing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise-wide data architecture standards, roadmaps, and governance frameworks.
• Lead design and implementation of scalable cloud-native data platforms using Databricks, AWS, and Azure.
• Architect batch, streaming, and real-time data pipelines for analytics, AI, and ML use cases.
• Collaborate with business, product, analytics, AI, and engineering teams to translate strategy into data solutions.
• Design and optimize lakehouse architectures, data lakes, data warehouses, and data integration frameworks.
• Enable self-service data analytics with trusted, governed data assets.
• Support enterprise AI initiatives with high-quality, scalable data foundations.
• Establish data modeling, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality practices.
• Automate data workflows, orchestration, and monitoring for near real-time access.
• Ensure data security, privacy, compliance, and governance across platforms.
• Guide cloud strategy across AWS and Azure environments and mentor data engineers.
