• This position is 100% remote. Candidates must be based in Maryland, Washington, DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Florida, or Texas.

Overview & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Analyst to join the Quality, STARs, and Risk Adjustment Analytics team at a leading health insurance organization. This team plays a vital role in supporting enterprise-wide efforts related to Quality initiatives, STARs performance, and Risk Adjustment programs.

This individual will primarily focus on Risk Adjustment analytics, particularly within Medicare Advantage plans. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise in risk adjustment methodologies and file types, paired with advanced technical skills in SQL and Power BI. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the lead analyst for Risk Adjustment data initiatives within the Medicare Advantage space.
  2. Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries to support analytical needs.
  3. Create intuitive, interactive, and insightful data visualizations using Power BI to communicate key findings to stakeholders.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  5. Use data analytics workflow tools (e.g., Alteryx, Microsoft Fabric) to automate and streamline processes.
  6. Support Quality and STARs initiatives through data analysis as needed.
  7. Mentor junior analysts and provide analytical leadership across projects.

Required Skills & Experience

  1. 8+ years of data analysis experience within large organizations.
  2. 3+ years of direct experience working with Risk Adjustment data, especially in the Medicare Advantage context.
  3. Strong working knowledge of Medicare Advantage risk adjustment business concepts and relevant data files.
  4. Advanced SQL programming skills, with demonstrated expertise using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  5. Proficient in building and troubleshooting SQL queries and integrating data from external systems.
  6. Advanced Power BI skills, including dashboard development and data visualization best practices.
  7. Demonstrated lead or senior-level experience on data analysis projects or teams.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience supporting Quality and STARs data analysis initiatives within a health insurance organization.
  • Experience with Alteryx, Microsoft Fabric, or similar analytics workflow development tools.
  • Familiarity with HCC coding, CMS submission files, or similar Risk Adjustment-related data assets.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
