Job summary

Communication Technology Services (CTS) is seeking a Lead DAS Technician III for Greenbelt, Maryland. This 100% travel role leads on-site installations of DAS, small cell, and private wireless projects nationwide, coordinating with field and project managers.

You will mentor technicians, ensure safety and CTS quality, and perform tests including PIM, Sweep, and fiber/trenching as required. A strong background in RF, iBwave, and installation discipline is essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of DAS installation experience or equivalent wireless infrastructure experience.
• Must pass federal background checks.
• Willing to travel 100% for regional and national deployments.
• Experience leading installation crews in commercial wireless environments.
• Knowledge of coaxial cable installation and termination.
• Experience pulling, terminating, and testing fiber optic cable.
• Experience performing PIM and Sweep testing.
• Working knowledge of Anritsu Site Master and RF test equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret iBwave design documentation.
• Understanding of RF frequencies, wireless technologies, and DAS components.
• Knowledge of building codes and installation best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation crews on DAS, Small Cell, and Private Wireless projects across the United States.
• Travel full-time (100%) to customer sites nationwide.
• Supervise, mentor, and direct technicians and apprentices during all phases of installation.
• Ensure installations meet CTS quality, safety, and customer standards.
• Manage daily project progress and communicate status to Field Managers and Project Managers.
• Coordinate material handling, inventory, and job site organization.
• Perform site walks for small venues and retail locations.
• Read and interpret iBwave design documentation and installation drawings.
• Install, terminate, and test coaxial and fiber optic cabling.
• Perform fusion splicing and fiber optic testing.
• Conduct PIM and Sweep testing using Anritsu Site Master and other RF test equipment.
• Troubleshoot DAS systems and assist with system verification.
• Collect documentation, photos, and closeout information.
• Complete and approve daily timesheets as required.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, customer, and CTS safety requirements.
