Job summary

GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. in Fairfield, NJ is seeking a Supervising Dam Engineer to lead dam/levee projects and collaborate with GZA offices across the Mid-Atlantic. The role emphasizes leadership, project management, and business development to grow our water resources practice.

The ideal candidate will have 15–20 years of civil geotechnical experience, a NJ PE, and ability to obtain NY/PA licenses, with strong client interaction and team mentoring capabilities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field is required; Master’s degree with geotechnical focus is a plus.
• Professional Engineer license in NJ is required with ability to obtain PE in NY and PA.
• 15–20 years of experience in civil geotechnical engineering, with dam/levee involvement.
• Experience with public sector projects in NJ/NY/PA is highly preferred.
• Seller-doer marketing and business development experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervising geotechnical and structural staff and providing technical direction.
• Senior project management of interdisciplinary teams and budgets.
• Preparing technical specifications and construction plans.
• Leading dam/levee safety inspections and fieldwork.
• Developing client relationships and pursuing project leads.
