Job summary

The Department of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting Clinical Laboratory Geneticists as the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor Laboratory Director at the UPMC Cytogenetics Laboratories in Pittsburgh.

Responsibilities include analysis and interpretation, reporting of karyotyping, FISH, microarray, and OGM analyses; development of in-house assays; supervision and education of residents and fellows; and ensuring quality and regulatory

Qualifications

• ABMGG-certified or eligible for LGG/Cytogenetics certification.
• Experience in cytogenetic testing of oncology specimens.
• Ability to develop and validate molecular/cytogenetic tests.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret results; prepare and review final test reports.
• Report karyotyping, FISH, microarray and OGM analyses for oncologic, prenatal, and postnatal cases.
• Assist Medical Director in supervision and administration of operations.
• Develop in-house assays for oncology and other clinical areas.
• Maintain SOPs, QC, and direct staff during proficiency testing; educate residents.
