Job summary

UPMC Southwestern PA is seeking Clinical Laboratory Geneticists for positions as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in Cytogenetics. Responsibilities include the analysis and interpretation of genetic test results and developing in-house assays. This role offers opportunities for academic rank and research funding.

Qualifications

• MD/DO and/or PhD candidates in Biology that are ABMGG-Certified or Eligible for Certification.
• Experience in cytogenetic testing of oncology specimens preferred.
• Experience in developing new molecular tests is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret results from genetic tests.
• Prepare and review final test reports for accuracy.
• Develop and validate in-house assays for clinical applications.
• Maintain standard operating procedures and quality control practices.
• Participate in the education of fellows through ACGME-accredited programs.
