Job summary

Allegion plc in Indiana is seeking a lead security professional to architect and deliver enterprise cybersecurity across the global organization. You will partner with IT, product engineering, and legal to shape strategies, governance, and security operations while mentoring early career staff.

This role requires deep knowledge of firewalls, SIEM, IAM, AI security, zero trust, and threat mitigation, with proven global project experience.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years of proven work experience evaluating, designing, deploying, and supporting cybersecurity solutions on a global Enterprise scale.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into practical business language.
  • Strong collaboration with IT, product engineering, legal, and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology to solve problems.
  • Experience leading successful project teams through influence without supervisory authority.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and oversees implementation of enterprise information security architectures within security orgs and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and drive the architecture for Zero Trust initiatives.
  • Collaborate with AI teams to establish security governance for enterprise AI adoption.
  • Evaluate and plan for emerging threats and defenses, including new technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership on security product evaluation, design, and administration.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party providers to meet IT security services and operations goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and ensure alignment with Allegion’s strategy and maturity.
  • Mentor early career IT Security talent and support change requests.
  • Contribute to compliance efforts (PCI, SOX, ISO, HIPAA, ITIL, etc.).

The ideal candidate will function as a lead security professional responsible for the technical architecture of Allegion’s global security program while also contributing to the full life cycle management and delivery of IT security operations and projects across the Allegion enterprise. The role requires the ability to effectively operate in a blended environment of business and technical personnel of various levels across the global organization. The role will engage as part of the enterprise cybersecurity team with cross functional engagement with other technical and business areas such as IT infrastructure, global technology services, enterprise applications, regional IT teams, software development teams, product engineering, and legal. The organizational breadth of the position spans the global Allegion enterprise with focus on delivering cybersecurity operations and service outcomes with high standards of quality and resilience. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. What you'll do:
  • Designs and oversees implementation of enterprise information security architectures and solutions within the security organization, software development teams, and business solution integration and support teams
  • Develop and drive the architecture for our Zero Trust initiatives
  • Collaborate with the AI team and establish security architectures and governance guardrails for enterprise adoption of AI
  • Evaluate and plan for emerging threats and defenses, this includes evaluating new technologies.
  • Help to establish, create, develop and maintain the security team's AI/automation operating system
  • Provide technical leadership on the evaluation, selection, design, installation, and administration of IT products and solutions with security features/functions/requirements as they come and go within the environment
  • Drive coordination and collaboration working with 3rd party service providers to accomplish IT security services and operations goals and drive results
  • Monitor industry trends and standards for their applicability to Allegion’s business strategy and operation maturity
  • Work with internal customers to interpret, clarify, and implement change requests on security-related solutions
  • Troubleshoot security related issues: firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmented network infrastructure, multiple security zones, etc.
  • Follow migration and implementation plans that address both tactical and strategic needs
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to early career talent in IT Security and other related IT roles
  • Contribute to the achievement and maintenance of compliance regarding PCI, SOX, ISO, HIPAA, ITIL, etc.
What You Need to Succeed:
  • Working knowledge of enterprise security systems: i.e. IDS/IPS, firewalls, end-point protection & response solutions, log management, SIEM solutions, IAM solutions, content filtering, etc.
  • Working knowledge of computer forensic tools, data loss prevention methods, and disaster recovery methods
  • Working knowledge of networking and communications protocols and methods relative to public, private, and hybrid cloud installations
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical business language
  • Learning agility, including a demonstrated ability to pick up and master new business and technical subjects quickly
  • Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology solutions to solve business problems
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and gain the respect and cooperation of both technology and business leaders
  • Demonstrated experience leading successful project teams through influence without supervisory authority
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently, plan workloads and deliver on commitments
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

Required: Five + years of proven work experience evaluating, designing, deploying, and supporting cybersecurity solutions on a global Enterprise scale

Required: B.S. or B.A. degree preferably a technical discipline such as Cybersecurity, Information & Communications Technology (ICT), or related STEM discipline (relevant work experience considered in the absence of technical degree)

Preferred: Industry certifications related to information security, networking, or other relevant discipline
