Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois seeks a Professional Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) Lead Lab Assistant to support the Veterinary Technology program. The role is on-campus, full-time, and entails coordinating laboratory activities, assisting instruction, and supporting animal care.

The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program.
• Current Illinois CVT credential or the ability to obtain within established timeframe.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in veterinary practice, animal care, or related field.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects, activities, and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory spaces, equipment, and materials for Veterinary Technology courses.
• Lead CVT lab assistant for assigned lab courses.
• Assist faculty with demonstrations, exams, and instructional activities.
• Coordinate daily laboratory operations and inventory management.
• Coordinate student worker schedules and training.
• Support safety, IACUC activities, and recordkeeping requirements.
• Assist with practicum student care and evaluations.
