Tailored Brands is seeking a Cutting Room Supervisor in New Bedford, MA to assist the Cutting Room Manager in directing daily operations for timely, high-quality garment production. You will oversee production staff, safety, and workflow while aligning with quality standards.

This role emphasizes lean manufacturing, coaching, and cross-department collaboration with Quality, Maintenance, and HR to meet delivery goals. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in textile or garment manufacturing preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese preferred.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively assign, prioritize, and schedule work.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 6S, preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, motivate, and develop employees to achieve performance goals related to safety, quality, productivity, teamwork, and job knowledge.
• Monitor workflow and allocate resources to maximize productivity and meet customer delivery requirements.
• Collaborate with the Quality department to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by reducing downtime, improving efficiency, and utilizing Lean manufacturing principles and approved coaching methods.
• Identify staffing needs and communicate hiring requirements to management.
• Coordinate employee training to ensure team members are properly trained in job duties, safety procedures, company policies, and cross-training initiatives.
• Partner with the Maintenance department to ensure equipment is properly maintained and repaired to minimize production interruptions.
• Promote a safe working environment by reporting, documenting, and addressing safety concerns and incidents.
• Participate in departmental meetings and communicate operational updates to employees and leadership.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
• Administer employee coaching and corrective action in partnership with the Human Resources department.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
