At Westinghouse, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and we seek to identify, attract and recruit the most qualified talent while recognizing and encouraging the value of diversity in the global workplace.

About the role:

As a Lead Customer Solutions Engineer working with our Risk Applications business lines, you will defend America's Engineering Solutions market share for engineering products and services associated with SRIES and the Probabilistic Risk Assessments (PRA) product line. You will meet operating plant customer needs with unique offerings through understanding of customer-specific needs and subsequent solution selection, technical content of proposal, costing and pricing, responsiveness and quality of bid. You will support customer technical consultative selling, interactions, negotiations and engage on emergent customer issues, and support resolution of challenges during execution of ongoing projects. Requires collaboration with Global Markets, America's Sales, and GOS (Engineering and Supply Chain) to close on opportunities.

You will report to the Customer Solutions Manager, SRIES. This is a remote role that can be performed from anywhere within the United States.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop customer relationships at multiple levels of the customer's organization to understand the customer's near‑ and long‑term needs, preferences, alternate vendors, timing, and other restrictions/limitations. This will include demand creation, offer development, P&L ownership, resource planning, and IP protection.
  • Using knowledge of the relevant Westinghouse products, develop commercial offers with customer‑specific value propositions—the right product at the right time at the right price.
  • Collaborate with Global Product Management to set product strategy.
  • Follow the project execution and customer interactions and address customer issues to facilitate understanding of customer needs and create PRA‑style proposals with value propositions to meet customer needs and secure OE.
  • Accountable for OE and opportunity pipeline growth for product/technology areas.
  • Aggregate financials, OE, pipeline growth, and MAS for all relevant product areas.
  • Provide feedback to relevant internal organizations to ensure needed products, if not available, are developed in time to support customers' needs. Develop the business cases necessary to support the investment.
  • Assess near‑term market trends, customer buying patterns and competitor moves to adjust product positioning. Recommend price to capture maximum market value while delivering on business plan assumptions such as MAS; collaborate with sales to align on final price to customer. Collaborate with sales on capture planning and final order negotiations.
  • Engage on emergent customer issues, leading the team until project management is available and engaged, working with the collective team to develop technical and commercial solutions. Collaborate with project teams to understand the status of projects, supporting resolution of challenges during project execution.
  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders, such as GECS resource managers, to ensure people, processes and technology are available to deliver offer commitments and promote market growth. Collaborate with the organizations' resource managers to produce high‑quality proposals.
  • Maintain a good understanding of Intellectual Property (IP) aspects of offers and ongoing projects; facilitate needed discussions to develop position on IP. Oversee approval for release of IP to external stakeholders with GOS.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal peer leaders in AOMS to ensure a cohesive approach to market and holistic customer support and satisfaction; collaborate to develop cohesive, joint proposals.
  • Collaborate with global product management on product strategy, product roadmaps, technology roadmaps, and innovation ideas.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, product engineering, product resource management, business or operation with increasing progression and complexity and levels.
  • Familiarity with Nuclear Power Plant design and operations (actual utility experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with Nuclear Power Plant PRA models and risk‑informed applications, the current market drivers and participants, customers, and multiple levels of PRA practitioners and leadership.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $116,800.00 to $146,000.00 per year.
