Job summary

State of Tennessee/Statewide Tennessee School for the Deaf (TN/TSD) is seeking a Custodial Worker 1 for a fixed-term assignment at the Knoxville campus. The position is onsite with a regular 7.5-hour shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, EST, starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities include leading custodial tasks, operating floor care equipment, cleaning restrooms and offices, and training new staff. Background checks and fingerprinting are required due to school location.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have at least one year of custodial work experience.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Lead custodian with leadership tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Operates custodial tools including floor washing machines, buffers and vacuums.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, waxes and buffs floors by hand or machine.
• Cleans restrooms, offices and classrooms by sanitizing surfaces and trash removal.
• Performs light maintenance on equipment and trains new custodial workers.
