Job summary

The Tennessee School for the Blind (TSB) is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodial Service Worker to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students, staff, and visitors at our Nashville campus. This position supports the health and wellness of our visually impaired student population by ensuring facilities meet the highest cleanliness and safety standards.

Day shift is 7am–3:30pm, Monday through Friday; an additional shift from 2pm–11pm may be available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking supplies.
• Perform routine custodial equipment maintenance and supplies.
• Empty trash and dispose properly.
• Lock/unlock doors and secure areas after cleaning.
• Report needs and concerns and submit work orders when needed.
• Maintain safety and environmental practices in the workplace.
• Assist in on-the-job training of new staff.
