Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City seeks a custodial supervisor to lead a team of 8-14 staff. You will coach, mentor, and train members, ensure safety, and oversee daily cleaning operations across offices and facilities.

Responsibilities include performance management, equipment certification, and scheduling, with opportunities to oversee weekends and events while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• Must read and write English and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to lead and motivate a team and provide training.
• Must certify in the use of equipment (sweepers, buffers, lifts, carpet cleaning machinery, high rise power washers).
• Must certify through Cleaning Management Institute/International Sanitary Supply as part of training.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Able to understand basic instructions and complete tasks.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds alone and up to 100 pounds with a team.
• Must comply with chemical handling regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee performance, evaluations, feedback and development plans.
• Coordinate daily work of 8-14 employees and supervise custodial tasks.
• Clean offices, restrooms, and public areas and operate cleaning equipment.
• Oversee safety, reporting, and training to maintain service standards.
• Lead meetings, trainings, and participate in leadership councils.
• Occasionally oversee custodial team on weekends/holidays and during events.
