Job summary

McAllen ISD is seeking a full-time Custodian to maintain school facilities and lead other custodians. Starting immediately, the role requires a high school education, a Texas Class C license, and at least 3 years in custodial work. The position includes a 242-day work year, monthly pay, and a pay grade 3. Reports to the Dept of Facilities Maint & Ops and offers the chance to support safe, clean school

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Clear driving record, required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Three years of custodian experience or related field, required.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive maintenance for custodians and facilities.
• Inspect building daily; report major repairs or hazards.
• Assist staff with movement of furniture and equipment.
• Maintain safe custodial practices and conduct safety meetings.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
