Job summary

Mesquite ISD is seeking a Head Custodian to lead custodial staff and ensure a clean, safe environment for students and staff. The role involves supervising daily cleaning, inventory management, and coordinating maintenance tasks across the campus.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of custodial experience; expects strong communication, delegation, and adherence to MISD policies. This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Campus/Facility Administrator(s).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Three (3) years custodial experience is required.
• The ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Ability to manage and delegate custodial tasks and supervise staff.
• Inventory management and safety compliance knowledge are expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleaning schedules for floors, walls, restrooms, and common areas.
• Supervise and assist custodial staff; delegate tasks and monitor performance.
• Keep facilities neat, safe, and properly maintained; report safety concerns.
• Initiate work orders and track maintenance status; communicate with administration.
