Job summary

This union-represented role reports maintenance and safety concerns and includes shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Minimum 2-3 years cleaning experience required; successful background check required to obtain college keys.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years cleaning experience.
• Able to pass a criminal background check to obtain college keys.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and as a member of a team to carry out work assignments in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with team members to create positive working relationships with co-workers.
• Represent the Custodial team as helpful and respectful while creating positive relationships with students, faculty and staff.
• Take care of assigned area daily following specific schedules, remaining flexible to the needs of the college and filling in for absent staff.
• Communicate with Lead on daily activities and any special needs to be completed.
• Perform general and detailed cleaning of offices, classrooms, dorm rooms, restrooms & showers, common areas, lounges, kitchens, sports facilities, etc.
• Remove trash and recycling.
• Dust, mop, vacuum, sweep floors; remove spots and stains from carpet; dust and wash surfaces.
• Clean restrooms and showers including all surfaces, walls, ceilings, lights, floors, and fixtures.
• Wash window and door glass; replace burnt bulbs and wash light fixtures.
• Remove snow and ice on a seasonal basis.
• Report problems or repairs to supervisor or submit work orders.
