Job Description

The Lead Custodian will oversee and provide cleaning services for student residences at CMI’s customer site in Emmitsburg, MD.

Key Job Functions

• Assist the Supervisor in daily operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments, ensuring employee assignments meet contract requirements.
• Turn mattresses, change mattress encasements, strip, and make beds.
• Remove dirty linens and provide fresh replacements.
• Wash windows, sills, and blinds.
• Clean furniture, fixtures, equipment, blinds, drapes, and surfaces.
• Replenish restroom and other supplies as needed.
• Spot clean carpets and walls.
• Clean showers, restrooms, stall partitions, doors, sinks, toilets, and tubs.
• Clean and vacuum common areas, classrooms, offices, auditoriums, and conference rooms.
• Remove trash.
• Maintain hard flooring through dusting, wet mopping, stripping, and waxing.
• Clean stairwells, elevators, and entrances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of proven cleaning or housekeeping experience in a dormitory or hotel environment.
• Ability to schedule, record work, complete reports, and communicate effectively.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently with high performance standards.
• Customer-oriented attitude.
• Strong prioritization and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and safety procedures.
• Experience in office and dormitory cleaning; ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe).
• Ability to pass a Federal Background investigation.
